Barbados Sailing

Association

 

 

 

The Barbados Sailing Association is the governing body of sailing in Barbados. It has several affiliates, including the J24 Club, the Barbados Optimist Dinghy Association, the Barbados International One Metre (IOM) Association and the Barbados Windsurfing Association. The BSA is itself an affiliate of the Barbados Olympic Association, the Caribbean Sailing Association, the International Laser Class Association, as well as the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), the global sailing federation.

 

 

Objectives of the BSA

 

  • To promote the sport of sailing within the island to the entire population.

 

  • To provide high-quality teaching and coaching to interested persons at a reasonable cost.

 

  • To promote competition in the sport within the island, as well as provide support for persons wishing to compete internationally.

 

  • To assist affiliates in achieving their goals.

 

  • To host regional and international regattas that expose local sailors to foreign competition.

 

  • To promote activities which achieve the above objectives.
